YOU HAVE AIPTASIA!!!! >:( Sort it soon, they breed like rabbits. :(

Go to the forum 'Learner's Room' where everyone gave me advice on this. it was really helpful too. ;D

I have had a nightmare with them. I started by giving them a paste of Kalkwasser, didn't do much,  I couldn't source Peppermint Shrimp in my area, which a lot of people use to control them, and didn't want to put any unnatural stuff in, such as a product called Aiptasia-X, which is reef safe, but apparently not too helpful in preventing a large outbreak. :-\

I finally went with Berghia Nudibranches; rather expensive - especially here in the UK -as they only eat  aiptasia/glass anemone. They have been in the tank for a few days now, and I am waiting for the 'feeding frenzy' to start.

Don't try to just take them out of the tank, they will multiply when threatened!!!
I currently have about 20 or so!!!

well i had apies but we got peps and now they are gone. these are so different looking i dont think they are appies. Learner, nice farm it actually looks pretty cool from what i can see. these look something similar to an appie but dont have the stump so to say. they are just flower topped like. and thanks bill. i will have to research that. and carol aptasia as far as i have are ok but you want to get to them before they get out of hand. i got peps for that. lol. they are doing a wonderful job. Oh anyone thinkin about gettin peps look for the darker ones they seem to do better munching on the appies

They certainly aren't ugly to look at, but OMG, they soon multiply. :'(

The corals are nice aren't they, thanks. :D

The one on your left is a Jasmine Star Polyp. The pic' doesn't do it justice really, as the centre of each star is sooo bright when the light is on it.

The one on your right is a Long Tentacled Leather Toadstool. It's quite spooky, as when it sleeps, all tentacles withdraw, and it looks like leather!!

Hence the names I suppose  ???

They are both soft. The Jasmine Star has really taken to the tank; it's split twice, so I now have it in a few areas. ;D

i think the 'jasmine star' is a clovisaria, something or other.. folks just call them cloves...

Andyea, toadstool leather on the right... they come in different colors, pinkish/tannish skin/flesh, and colored tentacles, mine are green with neon green tips, although my neon is kind of mia right now...

You can cut the leathers up and frag them easily... each piece will just grow out like the parent colony...

you can cut the entire stalk off the rock and the remnants on the rock will grow a new replacement...

the flesh, like most leathers will go thru stages... sometimes they just sit there and look like leather.. sometimes they get all GROSS, and rotting looking.. like ulcers in the flesh, with rotting/decaying flesh falling off...

DO NOT WORRY.

this is natural and will happen for any number of reasons or for no reason at all..

They will recuperate, and come back nicer and more fuller each time

i couldnt see the crabs but, as for combin two tanks, it should be the same as adding/acclimating any fish...

start combing/mixing the water between the two tanks until they are the same temperature/pH etc....

then grab and switch
